Candidate will be part of a fast growing VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) team and work on the VMware VDM (Virtual Desktop Manager) product. The VDI group focuses on bringing security, manageability and mobility benefits of virtualization to enterprise desktops.

The individual will be a Software Quality Engineer working on new products in the VDI group. The individual will play a key role in developing the test harness as well as the test plans.

Details |
Excellent QA skills required. Ability to define the test cases based on marketing and engineering requirements.
The right candidate needs to be experienced in performing black box as well as white box testing.
4 - 5 yrs of relevant QA experience.
3 + years of testing in Linux/UNIX and Windows environments.
Industry experience in performing QA/Testing functions.
Experience in developing test cases and test plans.
Strong knowledge of QA processes and methods.
Experience in testing backend as well as the GUI.
Design and develop Windows UI and functionality Automation
Write Test Documentation.
Experience in Client/Server testing.
Experience with Directory Services (LDAP, MS Active Directory) and Terminal services
Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, RDP, and VNC).
Experience with security and authentication technologies (SSL/TLS, SSO, Firewalls)
Experience with QA tools like bug tracking systems (Bugzilla), test case tracking tools and automation tools.
Proficency in developing UI and functionality Automation using Silk test tool.
Exposure to Thin client computing and understanding of Blade PCs (under protocol, include RGS)
Proficient in Perl, C, Shell or any other 4th generation programming language.
Experience with distributed client/server systems in a multi-tiered architecture and ability to diagnose/debug problems
Familiarity with any hardware architectures, preferably x86, would be a plus.
Excellent analytical, trouble shooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work in a team.
Ability to interact with cross functional teams
